Conversion Design

Conversation Driven Design is a process where a user lands on your web site and takes action.  This action could be as simple as calling your business, joining your Facebook fan page, or purchasing a product.  The goal in Conversation Driven Design is to “convert” your web site visitor into a customer, and or potential customer.

Let’s face it, we all have an agenda when we’re surfing the web.  We want what we are looking for and fast.  In fact when a visitor comes to your web site, we have 3 seconds to make an impression on them.  3 seconds! The days of slow loading websites with music and heavy animation and tons and tons and tons of content are far behind us.

How We Look at Web Sites

Taking the Findings from Nielsen Norman Group’s usability studies using eye tracking,  we all look at web site the way we read books.  From top left to right.  By placing all the important information in the correct areas of the site design we increase the rates of conversion that your web site produces.

F Shaped Design

Eyetracking visualizations show that users often read Web pages in an F-shaped pattern:  two horizontal stripes followed by a vertical stripe. http://www.useit.com/eyetracking/

Making the most of the Web Site Real Estate

Keep in mind that when someone lands on your web site you have 3 seconds to make an impression no them, or they will bounce away to another site.  By placing the essential components of your services offerings on the most viewed areas of the layout you not only make your visitors happy since they found what they are looking for, but you too will be happy once that phone starts ringing.  Essential components include things like your phone number, a call to action, accreditations (BBB, Certifications etc.) and a blurb about what you do best.  And that’s it!
